Choose your Page & Ad Account
Wizard step 4 — tell the CRM exactly which Facebook Page to watch for leads and which ad account your campaigns run in.
Choose your Page & Ad Account
This is wizard step 4: "Choose your Page & Ad Account". Two choices:
- Page — the Facebook Page whose lead forms the CRM watches. Leads only flow in for the Page selected here.
- Ad Account — the ads account your campaigns run in. It lets the CRM link each lead back to the campaign and ad that produced it.
Both are required: the step completes when the CRM has a Page and an ad account stored.
Who this is for
- Workspace owners and admins finishing Meta setup.
- Anyone re-selecting after being given access to a different Page or ad account.
Difficulty: Easy · Time: 3–5 minutes · Prerequisites: Connect Meta is complete — the CRM can already see your Facebook assets.
Step by step
1. Choose your Page
- In the Page dropdown (labelled "Choose your Page…"), select the Page your ads and lead forms belong to.
- What happens: the CRM stores the Page id and its Page access token on your Meta connection.
- Expected result: the Page name appears in the selection, the step is satisfied for the Page half, and the lead forms for that Page become fetchable.
If you only manage one Page The CRM selects it automatically during Connect Meta and you may not see a dropdown at all. You can still change it later from the connection row.
2. Choose your ad account
- Pick your ad account from the dropdown.
- If the list is empty or incomplete, click Find my Ad Accounts to re-fetch them.
- You can also type the ad account id manually — the format is
act_1234567890(theact_prefix plus the numeric id from Ads Manager).
- What happens: the ad account id is saved with the connection and used to attribute incoming leads to campaigns and ads.
- Expected result: both fields are filled; the wizard step shows done and the next step (Choose your lead forms) opens.
3. Changing a selection later (multi-Page workspaces)
- Go to Settings → Connections → Lead Source Connections.
- On the Meta connection row choose Select Page — an Active Page dropdown lists every Page discovered at connect time. Picking a different Page switches the active one.
- Refresh Pages re-reads the Pages your Facebook account can manage right now and clears a stale selection if that Page is no longer available.
Expected result
- Your Meta connection stores:
page_id+page_access_token+page_namefor the chosen Page, andad_account_idfor the chosen ad account. - The wizard step completes and lead-form fetching becomes available.
Common mistakes
- Choosing the wrong Page. Only the selected Page's lead forms are watched — leads submitted through other Pages are skipped, and they are not imported automatically later. If you switch Pages, update the lead-form selection too (Lead forms & mapping).
- Typing the ad account id without the
act_prefix or with spaces. Use exactlyact_+ digits. - Picking an ad account you don't advertise with. Attribution will be empty or misleading; use the account your campaigns actually run in.
- Expecting the Wizard to refresh Pages by itself. If you were added to a Page after connecting, use Refresh Pages first — the new Page cannot be selected otherwise.
Troubleshooting
| Symptom | Likely cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| No Pages in the dropdown | Connect-time discovery found none, or access was revoked since | Re-run Connect Meta with the right Facebook account, then Refresh Pages |
| Page list is stale / missing a new Page | Discovery runs at connect time and on refresh | Refresh Pages on the connection row |
| No ad accounts to choose | The Facebook user cannot see any ad accounts, or they were fetched before access was granted | Click Find my Ad Accounts; if still empty, add the user to the ad account in Meta Business settings, then refresh |
| Ad account not in the list | Not visible to your Facebook user | Type the id manually (act_…) or get access in Meta first |
| Step won't complete | One of Page / ad account is still empty | Fill both; the step's condition requires both values |
Technical details
- Storage:
lead_source_connections.credentialsJSON —page_id,page_access_token,page_name,ad_account_id; the full discovered Page list stays inavailable_pagesas{id, name, access_token}entries. - Discovery: Page list is captured during OAuth (
/me/accountsequivalent); Refresh Pages re-fetches it. Ad accounts come fromApp\Services\LeadSources\MetaLeadFormService::fetchAdAccounts()(GET /me/adaccounts). - The wizard's guard actions (
fetchAdAccounts, fetchLeadForms, refreshMetaConnection) are all real row/wizard actions backed by the Graph API — no simulated results. - Resolver condition (
meta_assets):credentials.page_idandcredentials.ad_account_idpresent. - Lead intake from Graph always re-reads the form allowlist of the active Page — see Lead forms & mapping.
